The FAB 87 Condenser Microphone.
Talaiot Audio Factory in collaboration with FAB Microphones have now
recreated the famous U87 microphone from the 70s (rev16 version). The FAB 87
uses the exact same circuit as the original with our custom designed circuit
board.
The finest components are used throughout the build, premium electrolytic and
polystyrene capacitors, military resistors with very tight tolerances, selected
transistors and central to this is our own specially designed transformer made
by FAB in the UK.
The core of the 87 sound is the capsule and transformer and we have chosen
what we believe is one of the finest capsules available. The K87 capsule we have
chosen is custom made by Eric Heiserman in the USA.
The sound of this microphone is very balanced with the detail and presence
heard on countless hit records.
With 14dB pad, HP filter and polar pattern selector to choose between omni,
cardiod and figure of eight.
Microphone comes with shockmount and case.
